It has been feeling a bit like waking up from hibernation...
long hours in the studio sewing and printing, organizing
ideas, collecting images, artwork and materials....
and this strange back and forth weather has seemed fitting...
but we think the spring/summer season has arrived.

We have been spending a lot of our time and energy getting
the spring/summer line ready - bringing together the new designs, images, and materials.
It is such an awesome process and we are very excited to share the beginning of our spring/summer line at this weekends Re-Fashion For Life event.

Please click on the links below to find out more about this awesome fundraising event - and come out in support of teen suicide prevention while enjoying local fashion designers and art.

Hope to see you there :)
love, maggie and dylan

STORY IN BRIEF: The vision of Benjamin Ballerina has been brewing for many years... Recently graduated with a Master’s in Art Therapy, Maggie Evans went back to her first love as a designer and seamstress of bridal gowns. Since also recently becoming a mother herself, she found much inspiration for a children’s clothing line. After partnering with Dylan Scholinski, a professional artist and founder of Sent(a)Mental Studios, which offers a safe space to a variety of youth to help facilitate a reclaiming of creative voice and exploring difficult emotions and experiences through creativity, the vision has finally taken form. Together, with their extensive creative backgrounds and a desire to create products that are environmentally and socially responsible, they use only reclaimed materials and original imagery to create unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade clothing for kids. Until now, Benjamin Ballerina clothing has been sold exclusively through the online Etsy shop. At the new storefront, you will be able to touch and feel each piece of unique clothing and, for one day only, take it home with you for  40% off.

ABOUT THE CLOTHING: Each piece of clothing is made from carefully chosen reclaimed fabrics, which are then screen printed with original imagery such as a flattened aluminum can or coffee cup lid. Each piece of clothing tells a story - a blanket becomes an apron dress and a well-loved sweater becomes a warm winter vest. The fabrics are then paired together, along with recycled buttons and trims, to create hip and colorful clothing in children’s sizes up to 10 years.
